Determination of Ethanol Concentration in Orange Juice by Gas Chromatography

[ISBN 0-9621181-8-4]

$10.50 (US)

Format:

(5 Pages of Text + 7 Exhibits)

This analysis determines the concentration of ethanol in an authentic orange juice sample suspected of having been spiked with Vodka (40 gram EtOH/100 cc). A gas chromatography method (AOAC Methods of Analysis Section 27.1.09, Method 935.20) is used for the analysis. A control sample comprised of orange juice purchased from a supermarket indicates a low but measureable concentration of ethanol, less than one percent of the ethanol concentration measured in the client sample.
